I am going to college now. As math has always been my weakness, I purchased the course books in advance. I am plan studying a handful of topics before the classes begin. Any kind of tools would be highly appreciated that could aid me to start studying solving equations rational expressions myself.

Extra classes are no better than attending your daily classes. If you have a doubt, you need to makes an effort to remove it. I would not suggest tutoring, but would ask you to try Algebrator. It will surely solve your query concerning solving equations rational expressions to a large extent.

Don’t worry pal. As what I said, it displays the solution for the problem so you won’t really have to copy the answer only but it makes you know how did the software came up with the answer.
